Aid Stations and Drop Bags
There will be 6 full aid stations in the 40 mile (plus one water-only), and 4 aid stations in the 20 mile, located approximately every 3-7 miles. For the 40 mile, you can leave drop bags for AS 3 (water only) and AS 6 at the start line on race morning. Aid stations will serve water, Nuun Hydration, cola, gels, fruit, potatoes, candy, chips, etc., plus doggie water and doggie treats for the 20 mile (sorry, no dogs allowed in the 40 miler).
Note for 40 milers: Aid Stations 3, 6, & 7 will be cupless, so…bring your own drinking container.
40 mile CUT-OFFS
At approximately mile 24, where the 40 milers turn off the long, straight road to run their second big loop, you need to be there by 12:45 p.m. That is 4 hours and 45 min. for regular starters and 5 hours and 45 min. for early starters. If you are a 40 miler and arrive there after 12:45 p.m., volunteers will direct you straight to the finish with the 20 milers. If you get there before 12:45 p.m., you will be directed to the 40 mile loop. Aid Station 6 will have a 2:15 p.m. cutoff. Aid Station 7 will have a 3:45 p.m. cutoff.
Absolute finish cutoff for 40 miler will be 5 p.m. This is a 15 min/mi average for 40 mile early starters. Please realize this is for the benefit of the many Rumble volunteers so they aren’t out there longer than what is reasonable. Thank you for your understanding on this.
20 mile CUT-OFFS
AS 2, 11:30 a.m.; AS 3, 1 p.m.; AS 4, 2:15 p.m.; Finish 4 p.m. If you arrive at any of these aid stations after the corresponding time, arrangements will be made to drive you back to the finish area. Thank you for your understanding on this.
